Laboratory Safety and Health Education Training for Foreign Personnel.

New faculty members and labor-employed students at the experimental site [pre-employment] safety and health-related education and training – at least 6 hours

manner of execution:
Please complete the following 5-hour online course first, followed by a 1-hour in-person session conducted by the laboratory supervisor or project leader.
Online course
1. For understanding the regulations related to workplace safety and health in Taiwan—OSHA Digital Learning Platform for Occupational Safety and Health.
(1) Occupational safety and health training course (I)
(2) Occupational safety and health training course (II)
2. Understanding the prevention of chemical and biological hazards, as well as the safety operation of laboratory equipment and electrical power.
(1) Commom chemical hazards
(2) Biological pathogen hazard prevention
(3) prevention of electrical hazards
a. Complete the membership registration first and log in to attend the courses.
b. Ensure you have completed the courses and earned the credits.
c. You may log on to an English version of the user manual of the e-learning platform for more details.
In-person course
Conducted by the laboratory supervisor or project leader.The educational training should include the following course content: workplace safety and health guidelines, standard operating procedures, workplace hazard notifications, emergency incident response, and an introduction to other safety and health knowledge related to worker operations.
After completing the first two requirements,
a. You should complete the relevant workplace safety and health education and training forms (print out the forms), prepare the completion certificates for online courses, and submit them to the unit supervisor, project host, or laboratory director.
b. The unit supervisor, project host, or laboratory director should conduct the review and retain these documents for future reference.
